About Ms. Weidman
I'm so grateful to be at City of Medicine Academy for my sixth year teaching English!I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literary Studies and Public Affairs from Columbia College, SC - home of the Fighting Koalas - in 2015. In 2020, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching at Duke University.I'm a first-generation college graduate meaning college and career access are very important to me. My undergraduate experience at Columbia College opened many doors for me through the Honors Program and my Washington Semester where I interned for the Embassy of Ireland. I would love for my students to have similar opportunities!Additionally, I'm an alumna of Teach For America, and former Content Leader where I developed and facilitated professional development.Currently, I am Fellow with Duke University's TeachHouse which supports beginning teachers in the Durham area invest in their students and community through professional development and equity work.Outside of school, I love to send letters, read anything from manga to novels, and go on virtual museum tours. I am currently binging the anime Haikyu!! but am always down to talk about anime and superheroes!
